applique, block of the month, digitized embroidery, Fall Quilt Festival 2015, Scissors, Wool -

Whew! Festival was FUN!

Oh My GOSH! It is hard to remember how fast paced it is at Festival!  There is so much going on, so much to learn, so many people to connect with... sleep when you die, right?

I brought a lot of wool with me to sell, torn into baby fats.  Luscious colors from Weeks Dye Works and Wooly Lady... and had a rounder filled with precut 5" squares in sets of colors and weaves from In The Patch.  It was like being in a candy store.  I almost didn't want to sell any of it.  So tempting to become a hoarder...

Plus we made available some wonderful 4" needle tipped scissors.  These are the best scissors.  When you make a mistake and have to pull out that thread you just hand sewed in place it lets you do that without making a darned mess and ruining your work.  Those just flew out the door (and the dish ran away with the spoon).  I'm going to be adding these to the website soon.  They are unbelievable and if you do any kind of hand work or any kind of machine embroidery you will wonder how you ever got along without them.

Okay, enough of that.  I just get excited and start rambling.   Did I mention the food we ate?  Groan...  We aren't going to talk about whether or not I was able to button my pants.

ANYway... Festival was great and now I need to sleep.  I was able to be there with two friends that volunteered to help me out in the classroom.  Thank God for friends!  Of course we didn't really sleep as we spent a lot of time trying to catch up on what everyone had been up to.  Not to mention the other events we tried to attend.  As well as getting to the classroom early enough to set up and breaking down at the end of the day, carting it all out.  Then back to it the next morning.

If you have never been to Quilt Festival you should make plans to come next fall.  There are all kinds of parties and events and lots of new friends to make, classes to take, and just walking the show, seeing all of the vendors and getting ideas and inspiration is marvelous.  Not to mention the amazing quilts that were admitted to the gallery for viewing.  It's humbling to see how creative and accomplished people are and it is absolutely an inspiration.  Festival is usually the week before or during Halloween.  Mark your calendars for next year and start saving to go now!

I'll be unveiling the information on the new FREE Block of the Month I'll be offering soon...
