What an amazing experience! You went to Alaska and you will never forget how awe inspiring it was to see those incredible mountains, trees, glaciers, whales, eagles, ravens, and flowers, lush, spilling all over the place.  The misty rain that makes everything somehow brighter, and the joy!

You want to know what is the best?? Not forgetting it all as it starts to fade... with time.

How do you hang on to that feeling of awe and happiness? Your photos are in your phone.  But what about if they were on your quilt?  How about if you could see images that reminded you of that glorious feeling, that trip, the people you met. The peace.

Just reach your hand out and run it over the vibrant colors on the silky, smooth cotton...that's the best feeling in the world.

You can have this warm, cozy quilt to keep or give way, to remind you of that once in a lifetime experience. Leave it out on the couch where everyone wants to be the one to snuggle up under that warm goodness. They can't ruin it.  It's a quilt! You can wash it!!

Didn't go to Alaska?  Making something for someone that this just "fits"?

No pressure.  Just because people in your family are waiting to see what the next delectable quilt is going to look like and who gets to nab it doesn't mean you have to panic.

How about Fast, Fun and FINISHED?!  Woohoo!

A full size panel of the wildlife collection is now available!

Simply add a border, quilt and bind.

I don't know about you but I am getting the the stage where I just want what I make to be beautiful... and not take me 6 months to create.

The panel measures 36" wide x 48" long.  The 12" blocks include the 5/8" wide black border around each image.  If you want to make it larger, simply cut the blocks apart and add sash and cornerstones.  The black will then make a beautiful, thin, inner accent.

Recently, I returned to Alaska where I grew up. Some of my favorite memories are from when I lived in Juneau as a child.  We would hike, play on the beach, swim in that cold ocean (for, like 5 minutes...we would turn blue really fast!), pick up shells, rocks, the ferns always smelled like cucumber to me. We moved to Fairbanks later. My parents were both pilots, so we took trips into the bush and explored so much.  I raised my boys in Anchorage.  When my husband retired we moved to his roots, in Texas.

I am so grateful for the life we had and returning to Alaska recently inspired me to get my watercolor paints out and create more memories. But I wanted to be able to USE my art.  I am a quilter and I want my art to be useful, don't you?

I found how I could share with you, to give you something created by an Alaskan, for your trip of a lifetime, to help you remember how you felt, what it was like, and even if you didn't see a fox, or a moose, it's all a part of the culture.  The bears, the salmon, so much!

I love my whales. I hope you feel their joy as they breach in the long sunrise/sunsets or the northern lights. I'm so excited to be able to share with you the wildlife I grew up with.

It was really a learning curve for me to discover how to make these images so they could be printed on fabric but I love the printing company I am working with.  The fabric options are terrific and how amazing is it to be able to just add borders, quilt it, bind it and have it forever?

The option of getting all of the images in one complete panel is so cool!

Choose between a panel with white backgrounds or those with a watercolor wash.  You will notice the layout is slightly different between the two panels and there is a difference in which blocks are included in each of these options.

Have you seen the individual panels?  If you would like to replace one of the blocks in either panel with another that is a favorite please contact Trish. Your quilt can be personalized with your selections for just a small $10 fee for creating your custom layout.

Don't want to make a full size quilt?  Check out the individual block size panels in this collection. They are perfect for creating a

  1. pillow,
  2. place mats for the table,
  3. a table runner, or
  4. mug rugs...or
  5. just frame them!
  6. Embellish them with thread, beads, buttons, found objects.
  7. Ask to get them printed on canvas for outdoor pillows.

There are many ways to use these panels. Need a specific size?  Just contact Trish: stuarttrish@gmail.com.

The panels are printed on demand with a small inventory kept on hand for immediate delivery.  If you prefer to receive a panel that is printed on a fabric other than cotton please contact Trish.  Depending on the fabric you are choosing there may be a small price difference and there will be a delay for a custom printed order.

For instance you could choose to have the panel printed on

  • Celosia Velvet (very yummy, soft, shimmery and vibrant. the colors are so pure they practically make you melt),
  • or Linen (for a more rustic feel),
  • Canvas to make those outdoor pillows
  • or organic cotton (for those that want that extra softness),

These all have different costs.  Contact me to discuss options for your magical creation.

How do you care for your new creation?

Your quilt will be easy care, just like using any of the fabrics you are used to.

As with all cotton fabrics, slight shrinking can occur on the first washing. I think that makes the quilt look softer when it gives you that soft loft. Please read the following care tips provided by the fabric printing company.

  1. For best results, we recommend washing these fabrics with phosphate free detergent in cool water using a gentle or delicate machine cycle. We also suggest washing before use.
  2. Some fading as a result of cleaning is typical for these fabrics. This is most notable on darker shades. Front loading washers contribute to color loss due to the increased tumbling action during cleaning. Fading can be minimized through use of cool wash settings and gentle wash cycles.
  3. Tumble dry on a low temperature or permanent press setting and remove promptly.

 Ironing

  1. We recommend ironing our 100% cotton fabrics using standard settings for cotton. Steam may be used to remove wrinkles. We also recommend that you iron with the printed side down for best results.
  2. Mineral deposits in the iron and spraying fabric with a water bottle may cause unexpected staining or marking and should be avoided.
  3. High temperature settings may cause discoloration or crushing of linen and we recommend use of synthetic settings and a light touch for that fabric type.
